On November 5, Dalian Container Terminal Co., Ltd. In recent years, with the acceleration of the process of regional economic integration and the trend of economic globalization, the development of ports in the direction of unmanned and intelligent has become the general trend. Equipment automation transformation is an important part of smart port construction, and the test application of automatic driving technology on unmanned trucks is an important part of equipment automation operation.

As an important link connecting the shore and the storage yard, horizontal container transportation is the key to unmanned and intelligent ports. The application of unmanned driving technology has improved the closed-loop operation process of the port’s unmanned line. The automatic driving system has the functions of environment perception, high-precision mapping, high-precision positioning, decision-making planning, chassis control, remote monitoring, driving, etc. Based on the CTOS system, the resource planning and dispatching of the entire port area are carried out, and the ITC system is the core for fleet execution. Scheduling: the unmanned truck collection is dispatched according to the planned tasks assigned by CTOS, and the onboard automatic driving system executes after receiving ITC instructions to control the automatic driving of unmanned truck collection to complete the automation level transportation task.

Since November last year, DCT has successively introduced 17 unmanned collection trucks to realize the on-site practice of the full-process automatic operation mode of yard automation-horizontal transportation-remote control quay crane. The currently planned unmanned truck joint commissioning test site is set up between K01, K02, and No. 17 berths in the third area. After a one-year testing work, from the initial stand-alone security use case and business use case testing to now participating in on-site operation production, the project team has continuously optimized and adapted the terminal operation scene to realize port interactive operation.

In the next step, DCT plans to complete the trial operation of the unmanned collection truck operation line by the end of the year, providing a theoretical and practical basis for the subsequent operation of unmanned collection trucks in automated terminals. The successful application and promotion of unmanned vehicles will also inject innovation and technical confidence into the Liaoning Port Group to build a world-class strong port.
