S49 Rail Export to Thailand
Project Overview
This project involved the supply of S49 rails for a Thailand-based customer with headquarters in Germany. The customer specializes in material handling equipment and open-pit mining equipment and has strict requirements for precision, stability, and compatibility in supporting components.
The order was placed for a terminal project. Although the final application details were not fully confirmed at the early stage, the customer’s core requirement was clear: a customized rail solution suitable for specific equipment operating conditions.
Product Details
Product: S49 Rail
Application:
Designed for stacker machines, the rails are suitable for heavy-duty outdoor environments such as open-pit mining sites and large material storage yards.
Customized Processing Requirements:
- 45° miter cut as the standard process
- Additional 5 mm chamfer to meet the customer’s special installation and operational requirements
This customization ensured that the rails could better match the equipment structure and working conditions of the project.

Challenge
During the order process, the customer arranged a third-party inspection and raised concerns about surface rust on the rails.
For steel products, such concerns are common in international trade, especially when goods are stored or transported in humid or outdoor conditions. The key challenge was to provide a professional and convincing explanation that could quickly reassure the customer.
Our Solution
We responded with a clear technical explanation:
The rust observed on the rail surface was flash rust, which is a normal phenomenon for steel products exposed to moisture, rain, or snow during storage and transit.
We further explained the following:
- flash rust only forms on the surface,
- it does not affect the structural strength of the rail.
- It does not impact dimensional accuracy or performance.
- and it will naturally wear off during wheel operation.
With this explanation, the customer accepted the condition and had no further objections.
