Recently, a large-scale rail flaw detection vehicle was ushered in at Lujiangkou Station in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province. There is the first 80km/h speed grade flaw detection vehicle calibration line of the Guangzhou Railway Group built here. The purpose of this trip of the rail flaw detection vehicle is to complete the calibration work of the rail flaw detection vehicle on the newly built calibration line, so as to improve the quality of the rail flaw detection vehicle flaw detection.

The calibration line of the Lujiangkou flaw detection vehicle is currently the only 80km/h speed grade calibration line of the Guangzhou Railway Group. It is located near Lujiangkou Station on the Beijing-Guangzhou Line. The total length of the line is 3916 meters, and the maximum speed in both directions can reach 80 kilometers per hour. The line was put into use in August this year.

Accurate calibration of the flaw detection system is the prerequisite for ensuring the detection capability of the flaw detection vehicle. Every year from the beginning of November to the end of March of the following year is the key breakage prevention period for rails. Affected by the temperature difference between day and night, the speed of damage development is accelerated. Only by adjusting the state of the detection system of the flaw detection vehicle can it play a more stable and reliable role in the key breakage prevention period of the steel rail.

It is worth mentioning that the dynamic calibration of the flaw detection vehicle has changed from the previous single-soldier combat mode, and instead two rail flaw detection vehicles and two teams of flaw detection personnel jointly attack. Rail flaw detection team 2 is responsible for using the 12576 flaw detection vehicle to undertake the flaw detection task of the high-speed rail lines in the Hunan area. The rail flaw detection team 3 is responsible for using the 12573 flaw detection vehicle to undertake the flaw detection task of the high-speed rail lines in the Guangdong area.

These two flaw-detection vehicles will provide a new calibration work mode to improve the quality and efficiency of rail flaw detection.

For the first time, the detection test adopts the method of “coupling + joint debugging”. The vehicle group uses the “forward pull and rear push” operation mode of the front vehicle towing and the rear vehicle propelling and steadily accelerating the speed of the flaw detection vehicle under the condition of insufficient power and limited distance.

According to the relevant requirements of China National Railway Group, if the average detection rate of the dynamic calibration of the flaw detection vehicle is greater than 80%, and the false alarm rate is less than 20%, the dynamic calibration is qualified. Judging from the calibration results this time, the average detection rate and false alarm rate of the two flaw detection vehicles are 97.7% and 9.1%, respectively, far exceeding the acceptance criteria for dynamic calibration of flaw detection vehicles.
