Saudi Arabia Tunnel Rail System Project
Project Overview
The East Jeddah Tunnel Project is a major infrastructure development in Saudi Arabia, designed to strengthen wastewater transportation capacity across key districts in Jeddah. With a total investment of over SAR 774 million and a tunnel length of approximately 14 kilometers, this project plays an important role in improving the city’s long-term sewage management system.
As the primary supplier and technical consultant, Glory Rail provided steel rail systems and specialized structural steel accessories for the tunnel’s internal infrastructure, supporting the project’s safety, durability, and installation efficiency.
Project Details
Date: 2024
Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Project Scope: Tunnel internal rail system and maintenance access components
Main Products: 22kg steel rails, steel sleepers, cable and pipe holders, walkway platforms, walkway holders, track pressure plates, and related steel accessories.
Scope of Supply
To meet the technical requirements of this tunnel project, we delivered a complete one-stop solution for the track and maintenance systems. The supply scope included high-quality steel rails, specialized steel sleepers, custom-engineered cable and pipe holders, walkway platforms, walkway holders, and fastening components such as track pressure plates.

Engineering Support & Design Optimization
Beyond material supply, Glory Rail provided engineering support to help optimize installation in a confined tunnel environment. Based on the project conditions, including 4.12m EPB shields and challenging coral limestone geology, we developed a complete 3D model of the track and walkway systems before production. Installation simulations were also carried out in our facility to identify potential spatial conflicts in advance.
One of the key improvements was an adjustable track pressure plate design, which helped the client compensate for minor variations in the tunnel’s concrete segments during installation. This optimization reduced the risk of delays and supported a smoother on-site process.
Quality Control & Delivery
All supplied materials underwent strict Bureau Veritas third-party inspection to verify material grade, dimensional accuracy, and welding quality. We also implemented customized packaging solutions to ensure safe container transport, especially for irregular tunnel components that required additional protection during shipment.

Project Outcome
According to site feedback, the rail and walkway systems were installed smoothly without technical issues, and the project was completed on schedule. The final result provided a reliable long-term solution for wastewater transport and contributed to improved environmental conditions in the region.

Conclusion
This project demonstrates Glory Rail’s capability in supplying high-quality steel rail systems and engineered accessories for large-scale tunnel and wastewater infrastructure projects. With technical expertise, quality-controlled manufacturing, and reliable logistics support, we are ready to serve similar projects worldwide.
