In 2009, HBIS Handan Iron and Steel was preparing to build a rail production line, becoming the first domestic enterprise to introduce the German 100-meter heavy rail online quenching technology. The overall equipment is internationally leading, and it is the fifth domestic enterprise capable of producing 100-meter heavy rail.

Handan Iron and Steel has successfully developed a number of specifications and grades of rail products that conform to Chinese national standards, Chinese railway standards, European standards, British standards, and American standards. The heavy rail has passed the China Railway Inspection and Certification Center (CRCC) certification and has taken the lead in carrying out the certification of European standard rails with the highest international quality standards in China, becoming the first steel enterprise in China to obtain the EU TSI certificate.

In January 2021, in the heavy rail production line of the large rolling mill of Handan Iron and Steel Company, the high-speed rail produced was inspected, and the fluctuation of the rail length was controlled within 0.3 mm, and the indicators were better than the high-speed rail standard requirements. It marks that the rail production of Handan Iron and Steel has opened the era of refined “universal rolling”. The defect of the rail tread was successfully controlled within 0.3 mm, which solved the “high and low point” stubborn problem that plagued the rail industry for many years, and became a new “Hebei Hegang” business card.

In August 2021, Handan Iron and Steel passed more than 10 technical transformations, overcame the technical problem of changing the end of the rail from “water quenching” to “gas quenching”, and realized the history of “from scratch” of the end quenched rail of Hegang Handan Iron and Steel. The breakthrough has met the needs of users for the construction of railway-supporting projects, marking that HBIS Handan Steel’s rail production technology has once again reached a new level.

In recent years, Handan Iron and Steel has focused on building a heavy rail brand, actively meeting domestic and foreign markets and customer needs, and after long-term accumulation, has successively conquered “full-length waste heat quenching technology”, “universal rolling technology”, “high-speed rail flatness control technology”, “100-meter rail length fluctuation control technology”, “end quenching technology” and other more than 70 key technologies, obtained 42 patents such as “100-meter rail double arc reverse pre-bending process”, creating the highest level of certification and The research and development of the highest speed rail is “the best of the two”, and the high-speed rail with a speed of 350 km/h and 100 meters is used in batches for the construction of supporting projects for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The products are mainly supplied to national key projects such as the Lunan High-speed Railway, the Jingtang High-speed Railway, and the Jingbin High-speed Railway, helping the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and exported to more than 10 countries and regions along the Belt and Road such as Mongolia.
