Crane Wheels Inspection and Scrapping

crane wheels inspection

Crane wheels need to be inspected regularly, and if problems are found, they need to be repaired in time. Those that do not meet the usage standards and cannot be repaired should be scrapped instead.

Crane Wheels inspection items:

1 For two driving wheels with cylindrical tread, the diameter of the wheel is within the range of 250~500mm, when the diameter deviation of the two wheels is greater than 0.125~0.25mm; Should be repaired.

2 Two driven wheels with cylindrical tread. The wheel diameter is in the range of 250~500mm when the diameter deviation of the two wheels is greater than 0.6~0.76mm; the wheel diameter is in the range of 500~900mm when the diameter deviation of the two wheels is greater than 0.76~1.10mm, it should be repaired.

3. When the diameter deviation of the two driving wheels on the conical tread is greater than 1/1000 of the nominal diameter, it should be reprocessed and repaired.

4 If the peeling area of the tread is greater than 50px2 and the depth is greater than 3mm, it should be reprocessed and repaired.

5 The area of rim breakage or other defects shall not exceed 3 cm2, the depth shall not exceed 30% of the wall thickness, and the defects on the same processed surface shall not exceed three.

6 After the wheel is assembled, the swing of the reference section shall not be greater than 0.1mm, and the radial runout shall be within the tolerance range of the wheel diameter. The assembled wheelset should be flexible and free of the block when used for rotation.

Crane wheels scrapping

1 If there are cracks in the rim, spokes, etc., they should be scrapped.

2. If the wear amount of the rim thickness reaches 50% of the original thickness, it should be scrapped.

3 The tread wears evenly, and the tread thickness wear amount reaches 15% of the original thickness and should be scrapped;

4 The wheel tread should be scrapped when it peels off due to fatigue;

5. The wheel rim should be scrapped if the bending deformation of the wheel flange reaches 20% of the original thickness;

6 Pitting occurs on the tread. When the diameter of the wheel is less than 500mm and the diameter of the pitting is greater than 1mm, or the diameter of the wheel is greater than 500mm, the diameter of the pitting is greater than 1.5mm, and the depth is greater than 3mm, and the number is more than 5, it should be scrapped.
