Common Faults and Solutions of Bridge Crane Trolley Wheels

Bridge crane is the main type of lifting equipment, widely used is an indispensable equipment in the industrial production process. The important work of loading, winding, lifting and delivery in Meigang hot plate factory is directly related to the safety production of the whole factory. As an important part of driving, the big wheel’s normal or not directly affects the running condition of the whole vehicle. At present, the common faults of the wheels of driving carts mainly include rail gnawing, rolling bearing damage and running tread peeling.

Analysis and solutions to rail chewing faults

1. Rail chewing phenomenon

Driving is on rails. When driving normally, there should be a certain gap between the rim of the wheel forging and the track. However, during the actual operation of the vehicle, due to various reasons, the gap between the rim of the wheel forging and the track becomes smaller, and even friction between the rim and the track occurs. This phenomenon is called “rail chewing”.

The process of determining the “rail gnawing” fault is as follows:

(1) Look: If the car gnaws the rail, the following phenomena can generally be seen: There is a bright trace on the side of the track. There are bright spots on the inside of the wheel rim, and the rim becomes thinner when it is serious, and the rim on the right of the big wheel is seriously worn, which is obviously much thinner than that on the left; When the crane is driving, the gap between the rim and the rail has a significant change in a short distance.

(2) Listen: If the car gnaws the rail, the sound of steel friction of “hissing” or “koh” can be heard during operation.

2. Reasons for biting the track

(1) The installation of the wheel is not correct, which is easy to cause rail gnawing. When the wheel is installed, the steering problem causes the car to run in one direction, and the wheel gnaws on one side of the track; When it runs in reverse, it gnaws on the other side of the track

(2) Due to manufacturing and wear, the diameter of the main and driven wheels are not the same, which is easy to cause the cart to tilt. And when the truck is running, under the same speed, the travel on both sides is different, which is easy to cause rail gnawing.

(3) The deformation of the bridge and foundation of the driving will cause the skew of the wheel position and the change of the span size, resulting in the running of the truck gnawing the rail.

(4) Rail gnawing caused by a large deviation in track installation. The tracks on both sides are not the same height, and the driving is prone to skew during the driving process, resulting in rail gnawing; When the same side of the track is installed, the straightness deviation is too large (that is, it is not on the same straight line), and the wheel is easy to gnaw the track when it transitions from one track to another.

3. Adjustment of the gnawing track

Through the detection, if the straightness and verticality of the wheel can not meet the requirements, it is necessary to adjust it first. The specific adjustment method is as follows:

(1) Calculate the amount of adjustment: when the center line of the wheel forging track center line is a certain “Angle a”, the deviation of the wheel tread is a “rtana”, where r is the wheel radius If the wheel is to be corrected, the center line of the wheel must be parallel to the center line of the track, and the copper sheet can be placed on the bearing seat.

(2) Padding to adjust straightness and perpendicularity. Due to the limitations of the wheel device and the concentricity requirements of both ends of the bearing, the padding thickness should not be too large.

These common faults of large driving wheels can be said to affect each other and are related to each other. Rail gnawing can easily cause bearing damage, and bearing damage will inevitably lead to wheel rail gnawing. Similarly, wheel tread peeling can also easily cause wheel rail gnawing and bearing damage. Therefore, during the actual inspection and maintenance process, a comprehensive analysis of wheel faults must be carried out to avoid missing faults.
