Case Study: A75 Rail Replacement Project for Pakistan Fertilizer Plant

Project Background

1.1 Client & End User

  • Direct client: A local engineering service & construction company in Pakistan, with integrated rail processing and on-site installation capabilities.
  • End user: A local fertilizer manufacturer. This project covers the full rail replacement of the fertilizer conveying vehicle line in the plant.
  • Original condition: The existing old rails were previously imported from Germany, and had suffered wear and performance degradation after long-term heavy-load operation, requiring a full-line upgrade.

1.2 Project Scale

The total length of the rail replacement line is 228 meters. As the core running track of the fertilizer material conveying production line, it requires industrial-grade high standards for rail machining accuracy, structural stability and anticorrosion durability.

Core Requirements & Technical Specifications

  1. Main rail specifications

Adopt A75 heavy rail with miter cut processing, produced in 6-meter fixed length measured from rail center to center, compatible with bolt-type rail clip fastening system.

  2. Full set of supporting accessories

Supply hot-dip galvanized anchor bolts, hot-dip galvanized hex bolts and matching steel base plates simultaneously, to realize one-stop procurement and delivery of the rail system.

  3. Anticorrosion process requirements

Complete sandblasting surface pretreatment on rails before delivery to provide a qualified base for subsequent anticorrosion painting; the final topcoat painting will be constructed by the client locally.

  4. Quality verification requirement

Provide A75 rail samples during production and processing, to support the client’s commissioned SGS third-party quality inspection.

Project Solution

Focusing on the working conditions of heavy-load conveying rails, we provided a complete delivery solution from three dimensions: machining accuracy, supporting integrity and quality control process:
  1. Precision custom machining for on-site installation

We strictly complied with A75 rail standard for production, executed precision miter cutting and 6m center-to-center fixed-length processing, to ensure on-site installation alignment accuracy and full compatibility with the bolt-type rail clip system.

  2. Integrated full-system delivery

We integrated the main rail, steel base plates and hot-dip galvanized fasteners with unified production and delivery standards, eliminating specification deviations from multi-supplier procurement, and reducing the client’s docking and management costs.

  3. Pre-anticorrosion pretreatment adapted to local construction

We performed standard sandblasting treatment on rail surfaces to completely remove oxide layers and impurities, forming a uniform rough base to guarantee paint adhesion and long-term anticorrosion effect of the client’s subsequent painting work.

  4. Full-process quality control with third-party inspection support

We implemented full-process control over dimensional accuracy and surface quality during production, and proactively arranged A75 sample delivery to efficiently cooperate with the client’s SGS third-party testing, ensuring products meet international industrial quality standards.

Project Value & Highlights

  1. Cost-effective alternative to imported rails

Our standard-compliant A75 rails replace the original German imported products. While meeting the same heavy-load conveying working conditions, it significantly optimizes the client’s procurement cost and delivery lead time.

  2. Full-set supply improves project efficiency

One-stop delivery of rails and auxiliary materials fits the client’s “processing + installation” business model, reduces communication and coordination costs for multi-category procurement, and shortens the overall project implementation cycle.

  3. Flexible scheme adapted to local construction

The “factory sandblasting pretreatment + local painting by client” anticorrosion scheme balances anticorrosion performance standards with the client’s local construction resources, achieving an optimal balance between cost and effect.

  4. Authoritative inspection builds quality trust

Support for SGS third-party authoritative inspection fully addresses the client’s quality concerns, and provides reliable rail system guarantee for the end fertilizer plant’s heavy-load and continuous production scenarios.
