Crane Wheel

Crane wheel – is used in the driving wheel of the crane machinery, mainly forged wheels. The quality of the forging is high, the density is good, the service life is increased, and the safety of large mechanical equipment is better guaranteed. It is the metal that is put under pressure, typically through the use of a hammer or pressure. The forging process creates a refined grain structure and improves the physical properties of the metal. High-quality wheel forgings can ensure qualified magnetic powder, UT ultrasonic, mechanical properties, and chemical composition of raw materials.

Heat treatment

The early wheels were generally made of steel castings. During the production process, due to the pores and inclusions in the castings, the quality was unstable and there were hidden dangers to safety. In the continuous improvement, it is gradually changed to forgings, and the forgings are heat treated to refine the structure, surface quenching, hardness enhancement, and wear resistance. The heat treatment technology has also been continuously improved, and the depth of the hardness layer can also reach more than 20mm. Heat treatment hardness of wheel hot tread: HB320-380. The hardness of some special requirements can reach: above HRC40, and above HRC50.

At the beginning of the heat treatment, the overall quenching and tempering are carried out to about HB240-280, and then the surface is heated by high-frequency induction to increase the hardness of the contact surface of the wheel forging and to resist wear. Gradually, the process is improved, and now it can be tempered directly to HB320-380, one is cost-saving, and the other is hardness depth improvement and quality assurance. Now Shanxi Yongxinsheng Forging can be overall quenched and tempered + surface water sprayed so that the hardness of the inner hole web can be kept below HB300, the tread hardness can reach above HRC50, and the depth is 20MM,
