Case Study | 60E1 Rail Supply for a Shipyard Project in the Philippines
Project Overview
We supported a Taiwan-based customer in supplying rail materials for a shipyard project in the Philippines. The original requirement was for 60E2 rail, together with matching rail accessories. After reviewing the production schedule, we recommended 60E1 rail as a suitable alternative to help keep the project moving forward.
Project Challenge
The requested 60E2 rail was not available in the current production schedule. To avoid delaying the project, we proposed 60E1 rail instead. The two profiles are very similar, with only minor differences in the head section, making 60E1 a practical replacement for this shipyard application.
Another challenge was the urgent delivery timeline. For the first batch, the customer needed shipment as soon as possible, while the preferred material was not fully available in stock. We therefore supported the customer with material comparison data and helped identify the most workable solution based on the project schedule.

Our Solution
The final supply included:
- 60E1 rail: 131 pieces × 11.69 m
- SS material: 31 pieces
- R260 material: 93 pieces
- Four-hole fishplates: 131 sets
- 3120 rail clips with M20×75mm bolts: 992 sets
For the first batch, we supplied SS material after explaining the performance differences between SS and R260 to the customer. Later, when the order quantity increased, we arranged the additional 93 pieces in R260 material based on available stock.

Delivery
The shipment was consolidated at Tianjin Port and scheduled for delivery in early February 2026 to Manila North Port, Philippines.

Result
This project demonstrates our ability to provide flexible rail supply solutions for overseas shipyard applications. By offering a practical product substitute, clear material comparison support, and complete accessories, we helped the customer move the project forward smoothly despite changes in schedule and material requirements.
