crane beams

4 Maior Types and 4 Major Components of Crane Beams!

The crane beam is the beam structure that supports the operation of the overhead crane. There are crane rails on the beam, and the crane travels back and forth on the crane beam through the rails.

In order to save steel, China mostly uses reinforced concrete crane beams, and its structural form can be cast-in-place monolithic or prefabricated.

Classification of crane beams

In addition to the crane beam and column structures commonly used in above-ground factories, the crane support structures in underground factories also include:

(1) Suspended crane beam, the crane beam is suspended on the abutment of the roof arch of the factory building;

(2) Rock anchor crane beam, the crane beam is anchored to the rock wall with anchor rods and anchor cables;

(3) Rock platform crane beam, the crane beam is laid on the rock platform;

(4) Strip-shaped corbels for crane beams, extending strip-shaped corbels as crane beams on the integral reinforced concrete lining.

The biggest advantage of suspension type, rock anchor type and rock bench crane beam structure is that there is no crane column, and the crane beam can be constructed in advance when the excavation of the workshop chamber has not been expanded downward, and the crane can be assembled in advance, and the excavation span of the workshop can be reduced.

Specification requirement

1. A layer of steel plate should be used for the flange plate of the welded crane beam. When two layers of steel plate are used, the outer steel plate should be set along the beam length, and measures should be taken in the design and construction to make the two layers of steel plate on the upper flange close contact.

2. Bearing clamps or rigid rake hard hook crane and similar crane structure, it is not suitable to use crane truss and brake truss.

3. Welding crane trusses shall meet the following requirements:

(1) At the joint of the truss, the gap between the belly bar and the chord bar should not be less than 50mm, and the two sides of the node plate should be made into an arc with a radius of R not less than 60mm; The Angle between the edge of the node plate and the axis of the abdominal rod should not be less than 30.

The joint weld between the node plate and the Angle steel chord should be indented at least 5mm; The T-butt and Angle joint welds between the bamboo point plate and the H-section chord should be welded through, and there should be no take-off and fall arc defects in the arc of the arc, and the arc of the heavy duty crane truss should be polished to make it gently transition to the chord.

(2) When the filler plate of the rod is connected with a weld, the arc point of the lift and fall of the weld should be indented at least 5mm, and the filler plate of the heavy duty crane truss rod should be connected with high-strength bolts.

(3) When the truss members are H-shaped sections, the joint structure can be in the form of illustrations.

(4) The welding splicing of the flange plate or web of the crane beam shall adopt the welding butt weld of the arc plate and the leading plate, and the cutting place of the arc plate and the leading plate shall be polished and smooth. Welding crane beams and welding crane trusses of the site segment splicing should be welded or high strength bolts friction type connection.

(5) In the welding of crane beam or crane truss, the form of T-joint butt and fillet joint welds required to be welded through should be shown in the figure.

(6) The width of the transverse stiffeners of the crane beam should not be less than 90mm. The transverse stiffeners at the supports should be set in pairs on both sides of the web, and should be planed and tightened with the upper and lower flanges of the beam. The L end of the middle transverse stiffener should be planed and pressed against the beam flange. In heavy-duty working crane beams, the middle transverse stiffeners are also arranged in pairs on both sides of the web. Medium and light working suspension beams can be set up on one side or staggered on both sides.

In welded crane beams, transverse stiffeners (including short stiffeners) shall not be welded to the tension flange, but may be welded to the compression flange. The end stiffeners can be welded to the upper and lower flanges of the beam. The lower end of the middle transverse stiffener should be broken 50-100mm away from the lower flange under tension. The connection weld between the rib and the web should not arc at the lower end of the rib.

Welding should not be used when the tension flange of the crane beam (or the lower chord of the crane truss) is connected to the support.

(7) Directly laying the track of the crane truss on the string. Its structural requirements should be the same as continuous crane beams.

(8) In heavy duty crane beam, the connection between the upper flange and the column or brake bracket to transfer horizontal force should be made of high-strength bolt friction connection, and the connection between the upper flange and the brake beam can be made of high-strength bolt friction connection or weld connection.

The construction of the connection between the end of the crane beam and the column should try to reduce the additional stress at the connection due to the bending deformation of the crane beam.

(9) When the span of the crane truss and heavy duty crane beam is equal to or greater than 12m, or the span of the light and medium duty crane beam is equal to or greater than 18m, it is appropriate to set the auxiliary truss and the lower flange (lower chord) horizontal support system. When the vertical support is set, its position should not be in the crane beam or crane truss vertical deflection is large.

For crane trusses, structural measures should be taken to prevent the top chord from twisting due to track eccentricity.

(10) The edge of the tension flange plate of the heavy duty crane beam (or the tension chord of the crane extension frame) should be the rolled edge or the automatic gas cutting edge, and when cutting by hand or shear, the edge should be planed along the full length.

(11) No parts of the suspension equipment shall be welded on the tension flange of the crane beam (or the tension chord of the crane extension frame), and it is not appropriate to spark or weld the fixture there.

(12) The joint structure of the crane rail shall ensure the smooth passage of the wheel. When the long rail is welded and connected with the crane beam with a pressure plate, there should be a certain gap (about 1mm) between the pressure plate and the rail, so that the rail can be lengthwise expanded by the effect of temperature.
